Here’s the long careful process of loading a glaze kiln ready for firing. It’s a bit like playing Tetris to make all of the pieces fit closely but without touching each other. Each glazed piece needs to be handled extremely delicately as to not knock off any of the glaze, it sits in top of the pieces in a fine powder,that’s why everything looks white! The colours will transform once the kiln reaches the really high temperature of 1260 degrees over 24 hours!
