  • Who will be teaching me?
You will be taught by me Katherine, I own and run the business / workshops. I am a degree qualified practioner and I provide personalised one to one tuition to suit your needs. I am fully DBS checked and I have over 6 years experience teaching ceramics.
  • What do workshop prices include?
Prices include all materials and bisque firing your item(s)(unless otherwise stated).
  • What ages are the workshops suitable for?
The workshops are suitable for ages 2+.
  • What happens to my creation when I leave?
After you have lovingly created your item, you will leave it with me and it will be ready to collect within roughly 8 weeks. Once you’ve made your item it will need to dry out for several weeks, I will then load it into the kiln where it will be bisque fired (this essentially means baked) for 12 hours at 1000 degrees. It takes around 24 hours to cool the temperature down enough to open the kiln, now your creation is fully fired and turned from clay to ceramic. I will get in contact for you to collect your finished piece(s).
  • Do I get to take my creations home?
Yes! You will first leave your items with me to be fired and then they will be ready to collect within roughly 8 weeks.
  • Is ceramics suitable for partially sighted / blind attendees?
Yes! Ceramics is suitable for people of all ages and abilities; working with clay is all about the way you work with the material, the feeling of working it in your hands, you are only limited by your imagination not ability!
  • When can I book a Personalised Ceramics Workshop?
Personalised Ceramics Workshops do not run on specific dates, date and time availability is flexible- weekdays, evenings, weekends and bank holidays; so workshops can be booked at a date/time to suit you. To check availability just inquire with your desired date. Workshops run from 2 - 6 hours
  • Do you teach the pottery wheel?
Everything you create at my workshop is made by hand but the options are limitless and there’s a wide variety of different hand building methods to explore for making the actual item before decoration or colour even comes into it! Any item you can create on the wheel can me made using hand building methods. NEW TO 2024 I am running mini pottery wheel classes!
  • Do I do home visits?
Yes I can come to you to do a workshop, although I only travel locally. The workshop can be for up to as many as you can get around a table at home or if you wanted to hire out a room/village hall or wherever you wish for up to 60 attendees.
  • Do I visit schools and other organisations?
Yes, I run workshops for schools/colleges, after school clubs, craft groups, care organisations, Charity events, WI's etc. Workshops can be adjusted to meet the needs of the attendees.

No need to purchase a specific workshop, let the recipient choose the right workshop for them. Once purchased the consumer will be responsible for contacting me Katherine to confirm a date. Certificates must be redeemed before the use by date given when purchased - within 6 months

I will also provide some printed information to accompany the certificate. Gift certificates are valid for up to 6 months from purchase date.
