I hope you enjoyed segment #1 of 'A month in the life of a ceramicist' about the daily life of my business Katherine Fortnum Ceramics. Each month is different in my work life, I will always do a bit of creating, social media and other bits but no day is ever the same!
This April I have been prepping for my annual Springtime Open Studio happening this May Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th. Designing posters, creating signage, working on advertising the event as well as creating lots of new pieces for visitors to browse.
I've been creating a range of new work to display, I'll also have pieces in progress ans behind the scenes look into some cool ceramic processes!
I have had some Fab workshops with Joe, he has been attending weekly sessions developing his creativity by exploring with clay. Each week we have tried different techniques and now were working on creating a final piece for his Art GCSE, he is currently creating a village diorama.
At the same time as creating pieces
I have to decide on the colours Id like
my pieces to be, to do this I have
been doing glaze testing.
