The first session went fantastically, everyone was inquisitive and not too daunted not having tried ceramics before. I shown a variety of techniques and this week we created a trinket box, Sarah a returning customer decided to use her time to further explore techniques we'd touched upon in a previous workshop she attended.
In week 2 Victor joined the course, he'd done a one-to-one with me a few days after the first of the evening sessions and he enjoyed it so much he joined the ladies for the remainder of the course.
I taught them the technique Press moulding. They all did wonderfully with the technique and all shown a good skill and understanding by the end of the session. Each came out with a unique bowl, no two the same, what great pieces!
Week 3 we experimented with Pinching. It can be a very difficult skill to acquire getting the precision in thickness and weight of the pieces but they all did brilliantly. Amanda got creative altering the pinch pots giving them fluted edges and even added a little birdie!
Week 4 was coiling which is always a great technique to teach as every participant will take it their own way whether its traditional coiling, decorative or a bit of both! What lovely pieces.
I'm proud of all of you who came on the course, you could definitely see your skills develop each week and it was great to see you through your creative journey. I'm so glad I decided to run a course as its been a lot of fun and most important of all everyone enoyed themselves which means the world to me.
