Slip trailing is a decorative technique used in ceramics.

Clay is turned into a thick creamy liquid form and trailed directly onto wet clay by squeezing it through a bulbed tube, leaving a 3D design on the surface of the clay.

Slips can have colour in them to create patterns and contrast in colour, or can even be applied simply as liquid form of the same clay it’s being added to, meaning it will be the same colour.
