COMMISSION A lovely couple Jo & Derek sadly lost their beloved cat Susie, and wanted a precious memory of her forever. I was given a selection of photos showing the coloring and detailing of her fur, from which I was to create a large planter pot. She was a gorgeous mixture of mid browns, with white and black patches, among the variety shades of browns.
I am so proud of this piece, it came out even better than I had imagined. I hand built it from White Stoneware Clay and layered a multitude of my special handmade glazes to get the coloring to resemble Susie’s fur.
This piece is so special, there’s lightening flashes, hares fur glaze effect, gorgeous glaze drips, metallic sparkles, the works! The photos do not do the glaze effects justice… I wish I was a professional photographer haha!

We commissioned Katherine to #stunning make us a pot to celebrate the life of our beautiful cat Susie who we sadly lost last year. Wow wow wow! What a fabulous piece. Collected it today and I burst into tears. It was everything we hoped and more. Katherine put her heart and soul into the piece and it shows. She has captured the essence of Susie perfectly using 15 hand made glazes to replicate her multiple colours. We are truly blown away.
