Here’s one section of the totem pole that I’m currently working on that I mentioned a few weeks back. This is one face finished at the greenware stage, fresh wet clay. I’m going to add colour and definition at the next stage when I glaze it. So far I’ve got 3 faces with exaggerated facial features and expressions to resemble the traditional totem poles that are carved out of tree trunks, and one patterned section that I’m going to alternate between the faces as I put the pole together.
I’ll keep adding progress updates as I make more sections!
